Stanhope Methodist Church

Stanhope is situated on the A689 in Weardale, between Frosterley and Eastgate.


Stanhope Methodist Church is situated behind (north) of the Market Place and the Norman Church.


The present church dating from 1870, replaced the original 1800 building.

Sunday Services: 10.30am.

Holiday makers are always welcome.

J-Club for young people 6yrs upwards - 2nd, 4th and 5th Sundays 

All Age Worship -1st Sunday 

Worship Group - 3rd Sunday 

Messy Church - 3rd Sunday - 2.30pm 

WEEKDAY ACTIVITIES:

Wednesday, 7.00 – 9.00pm is a fun night of Carpet Bowls, when church members and members from the local community have a good time together.
Anyone from the local community is welcome to join the group.

First Thursday of the month
 at 7.30pm we meet for Praise in the Dale. This informal act of fellowship and worship sees the congragations of the Dales Methodist Chuches joining together to explore a different theme. Previous sessions have included a trip to the seaside, bonfire night celebrations and a change to experience what it is like to be a persecuted believer. Everyone welcome.

Thursday at 7.00pm, Men’s Meeting  (monthly, usually 3rd Thursday).

There is a meal followed by a speaker – with a variety of speakers over the months. This meeting is open to all men.
